Science Project/Painting

A couple of weeks ago we decided to do a “science project”. I took baking soda & mixed it with some green paint. I cut some shamrocks out of poster board and put them in some foil roaster pans. Then I let the kids go wild painting the shamrocks with the thick nasty paint. When they had it covered as much as they wanted I gave them a medicine dropper & a small cup of vinegar. Watching their faces when they put some vinegar on the paint was so much fun! We’ve been calling it “fizzy paint”. It’s fun because you can do it with any color of paint and any template of any object. We talked about why it fizzed. And using the medicine droppers helps their fine motor skills. I was a little hesitant at first because the only medicine droppers I could find are glass but they did great! Here are a few pictures of Cael trying it out.
